Gray Coulton Awarded Advanced Wealth Management Designation— Certified Private Wealth Advisor
Daniel Island resident Gray Coulton, CIMA®, CPWA®, First Vice President at Robert W. Baird & Co. in Charleston, SC, recently earned the Certified Private Wealth AdvisorSM designation. The CPWA designation, delivered by Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), is the only advanced designation designed for financial advisors and consultants who work with high-net-worth clients on the full life cycle of wealth; emphasizing not only investment management but also retirement planning, asset protection, estate planning and wealth transfer. Gray has previously also earned the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation from IMCA, which focuses on portfolio construction, investment manager selection and risk management. Gray is responsible for working with both individual and institutional clients to identify their financial needs and goals, develop plans to meet these goals and manage their investments accordingly.
“Successfully managing our client’s investment portfolios to provide a secure, worry free retirement has been, and remains, our core focus”, say Gray. “However, clients are also increasingly approaching us for advice with respect to taxes, estate planning and wealth transfer issues related to their investments. This course of study has rounded out my experience and will allow me to offer even greater value to clients.”
The CPWA designation is awarded to individuals who have met the experience requirements, have successfully completed coursework in advanced wealth management strategies and applied concepts at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and have passed a comprehensive examination covering the following areas: advanced tax planning, asset protection, executive compensation plans, stock options, tax-efficient portfolios, business planning, retirement planning, charitable planning, and estate planning. CPWA licensees must also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements, uphold IMCA’s Code of Professional Responsibility, and ahere to the Rules and Guidelines for the use of the Marks.
