Hokey Pokey Ice Cream serves up from-scratch frozen goodies on Daniel Island
The owners of Honeycomb Café have opened Hokey Pokey Handcrafted Ice Cream next door to their beloved Daniel Island restaurant. Featuring French-style ice cream, frozen Greek yogurt, and non-dairy desserts, all treats are made in-house from batter to churn. The shop’s name has two meanings: Hokey Pokey is a wildly popular flavor of ice cream in New Zealand and Europe (it is vanilla-based with honeycomb brittles, and yes, it will be a regular on the menu), and it is also the Cornish word for “Honeycomb.”
Happy treat-seekers stopped in for Hokey Pokey’s soft opening on Thursday, October 25, sampling flavors from cookies-n-cream to salted caramel. Need a topping or two? Order up one of several tempting sundaes. Prefer a sippable dessert? Ask for a shake or malt. Ice cream not enough for you? Check out the homemade baked goods, and keep an eye out for quick lunch items coming soon.
Located at 162 Seven Farms Drive, Hokey Pokey is open for business Sunday through Thursday 11 am until 8 pm (during the summer they will close at 9 pm), but closed on Tuesdays. Friday and Saturday hours are 11 am until 9 pm (during the summer they will close at 10 pm).
