These holiday decorations in the Club House at Daniel’s Landing were designed by the Daniel’s Landing Garden Club. The club is made up of owners and residents of Daniel’s Landing. Ginny Hallman, Robert Grenfell, Shelby King, and Ali Edwards were responsible for coordinating the decorating and enlisted several other volunteers.
Robert Grenfell explained the materials:
"Many of the innovative decorations created by Daniels Landing Garden Club members employed greens collected from our own foundation plantings. The materials included branches from pines, ligustrum and Japanese holly; berried branches from dwarf nandina and weeping yaupon holly; fronds from palmetto palms; seed heads from purple fountain grasses and the variegated Chinese miscanthus grasses and flowers from camellias and crape myrtles. Additional plant materials brought from residents’ homes in other states included Japanese and Burford holly branches and clippings of variegated boxwood, Cripps golden hinoki cypress and Chinese arborvitae. The Garden Club displayed great imagination, careful attention to detail and wonderful teamwork throughout the 3-day three day decorating project."
