Daniel Island Historical Society co-founder Michael Dahlman poses with Herb Frazier, who served as guest speaker at the organization's September program. Frazier discussed his book, Behind God's Back: Gullah Memories of Cainhoy, Wando, Huger, Daniel Island, and St. Thomas Island, South Carolina.
It was steady and busy during the Red Balloon Yard Sale
at Holy Cross Church, where local Boy Scout Troop 519 sold items to raise money for their group.
With help from Charleston Vineyard Church, Bethany and Eddie Bates took part in the Daniel Island Red Balloon Yard Sale at a home on Barfield Street to raise money for their efforts to adopt Catrina, a young girl residing in a Haitian orphanage.
