Kim Russo, co-chair of the Palmetto Scholar Academy enrollment committee, poses with Dr. Melanie Murphy, the school's interim director.
Senator Larry Grooms, currently a candidate for South Carolina governor, also stopped in at the Daniel Island Club to learn more about Palmetto Scholars Academy. Pictured with Sen. Grooms is Dr. Shelagh Gallagher, a noted expert internationally in the field of gifted education. Dr. Gallagher is serving as the new charter school's curriculum consultant.
Gary Boehm (left) of Glick/Boehm and Associates designed the renovations to the building Palmetto Scholars Academy will occupy on the Navy Yard in North Charleston. He is pictured above at the PSA luncheon with Henry Blackford, a board member for the Coastal Community Foundation, and Charleston City Councilman Gary White.
