YoungLife/WyldLife says thank you!
It is fitting at this time of year to say THANK YOU to the Daniel Island Company, the Daniel Island Community Fund and to the overall Daniel Island community, and to express how THANKFUL the Daniel Island Young Life and WyldLife kids and the committee are for your very generous donation of $10,000 to the organization from the Daniel Island Community Fund. Five years ago Young Life/WyldLife was only a vision for kids to have a place on Daniel Island each week to laugh, sing, partake in skits, play games, have fun with their friends and leaders, in an environment that would help them grow in their faith. Each week middle schoolers on Wednesday nights and high schoolers on Tuesday nights show up excited to see their leaders and friends. It’s with your prayers and financial support that helps this organization thrive and grow. More than 12 College of Charleston and CSU students spend countless hours each week going to the kids sporting events, school activities, or just hanging out at Orlando’s developing unconditional friendships with the kids on the island. Not to mention your support helped send over 100 kids to summer and winter camps this past year. Through these friendships with their college leaders, these kids get to hear the good news and it’s a message that no matter what they are going through they have a God that loves them and will always be with them.
Thank you so much for your continued support from the Younglife/WyldLife staff and Daniel
As you can see from the picture of over 60 kids at our WyldLife Club meeting last week, the middle schoolers from Daniel Island are very THANKFUL!

Pet Contest winnings donated to DIAH
It was such an honor to have placed second in the DI News pet photo contest. This award alone was a wonderful gift. Imagine my surprise when I then received a $50 check for winning second place. At first, I had visions of primo catnip, fresh fish every day and maybe enjoying a day or two at a cat spa!
But then I began to think of how grateful I am for the life I have and enjoy. I wanted to show my thanks and give other pets an opportunity for a better life. After consulting with my parents, I decided that I wanted to give to a local charity that focused on helping pets and their keepers. I found a wonderful charity right here on DI which is sponsored by Dr. Lynn flood, my very own veterinarian. My family and I recently presented her with my award check to support the DIAH on Wheels. DIAH uses their van to support the needs of the elderly in keeping their pets healthy and well fed.
I feel really good about my decision and hope other pets and their parents might help out as well.
With affectionate meows and purrs,
