I have never penned a letter to the editor before but am doing so today to extend my heartfelt thanks to the business owners on Daniel Island who have street-front businesses. In a difficult economy when times are tough and money is tight, it brings a big smile to my face to see the profusion of flowers and greenery that grace the entrances of many of our businesses. Thank you for taking pride in our community and for making Daniel Island such a beautiful place. My family and I have lived here for nine years and this is the prettiest our downtown has ever looked! Your efforts have certainly been noticed.
