RooCup feature? Really?
So, I received my print copy of the paper yesterday ... front page photo and a two-page spread showing smiling children with their coveted and hard-to-get RooCups.  Strangely enough, the Moultrie News paper had a similar article today. Awarding our students with the prized RooCups? REALLY?!?!  It's newsworthy to award our kids with giant cups of high fructose corn syrup, preservatives and artificial colors ... that's news to cheer about?  There have been so many articles in the last few months that have shown scientific evidence of the effect these ingredients have, especially in children.  C'mon ... there must something better to reward our children with.  Heck, the cost of a cup can get you almost 3 popsicles from King of Pops at the farmer's market.  At least those are an all natural treat.
Must have been a slow news week or something ... or maybe last weekend's media blackout of the March Against Monsanto demonstration downtown includes our local print media organizations as well.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Gresham
Mount Pleasant
