No to joint election of Governor and Lieutenant Governor
The electorate should REJECT the proposed amendment to the State Constitution on the November ballot providing for the joint election of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor.
This seemingly sensible change is outweighed by the harm posed by the accompanying provision that the Lieutenant Governor no longer act as President of the Senate and strip him/her of the tie-breaking voting authority. Passage of this amendment will incrementally weaken (in favor of the Senate) our already weak executive branch of state government.
A vigorous balance of power between the branches of government best serves the interests of all citizens and safeguards their liberties.  As Thomas Jefferson observed; * "An elective despotism was not the government we fought for...but  (one) in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among several bodies of magistracy, as that no one could transcend their legal limits without being effectually checked and restrained by the others."

Obama movie gives reason
to vote

Many of you have likely seen the “2016: Obama’s America” movie and have formed your own opinions. However, many have not taken advantage of this eye-opening documentary so I will pass along my thoughts. I believe that the message in the movie deserves to be widely spread and understood by all voters before the November election.
Some movie viewers have commented on Obama’s use of the race issue, using guilt so people would vote for him as some sort of proof that they were not racist. I am confident that many of you, like me, are not racist and do not need to prove anything. Others pointed out the audiences were often heavily represented by us mature folks and did not reach the young supporters. Many just shared the fact that the movie and its conclusion literally scared them. All of this is true, but I believe misses the movie’s most salient message.
Dinesh D'Souza does an excellent job of documenting the influences that are the basis for Obama’s governing style. He did so without making him out as necessarily a bad person. Instead he makes the point that Obama just has a different view of what America should be compared to what many of us believe.  Some have claimed that Obama is not demonstrating leadership. The main point D’Souza makes is that Obama is no fool, is quite competent, some say brilliant and he knows exactly what he is doing. He is just purposely trying to transform America to what he thinks it should be. His plans for the U.S. Economy are to cause systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos thereby destroying Capitalism and our country from within. The ultimate objective of this strategy is to overwhelm the system with government spending and entitlement demands.
To understand what motives drive Obama one only has to study the people that have molded his belief system. His father, mother and grandparents are all documented anti-colonialists. During Obama’s formative years he was mentored for eight years by Frank Marshal Davis, a confirmed member of the Communist Party (CPUSA) and propagandist in Chicago and Hawaii, as well as a writer and poet. The FBI had Davis under investigation or surveillance for 19 years, compiling a 600-page FBI file. Later Obama was heavily influenced by Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright. It is undeniable that all of these people who exerted great influence over Obama are all anti-American. Obama is simply following the teaching of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. Among other things they outlined a plan to socialize America to wipe out poverty by establishing a guaranteed annual income.
What many of the American middle class and poor folks supporting Obama have failed to realize is that he is not talking about them when he uses his 99 percent against the one percent to divide our country. You see when he talks about redistribution of wealth his one percent is America and the 99 percent is the poor developing countries. His anti-colonialist views results in his contempt of America. He believes we only have the wealth because we stole it from the developing nations. His ideology rooted in the Third world drives him to bring our great nation down so we are no longer an exceptional country. D’Souza uses a great example to demonstrate this point. He points out that while Obama has refused to take steps to promote energy development in America, he is actively promoting it in Brazil, Columbia and Mexico and using US taxpayer dollars to do it. Yes, Obama wants to enhance the economies of poor countries while weakening the USA so the world is all equal. If you need more proof of the Socialist, anti-American direction he wants to take our great nation in, simply look at the biographical information of the Czars he has surrounded himself with.
My fellow Americans, November 6, 2012 will be an important day. The candidates we elect for Congress and the President will determine how America will be lead in the next decades. We can vote for those that choose to follow the principles our Founding Fathers established that have made us the greatest nation in history. Or we can elect those that have announced boldly that they want to dramatically change our great country. Just a few years ago we were the envy of most of the rest of the world, but Obama wants to change us. Fortunately I think enough people will wake up in time and vote for the America most of us still love and admire. If by belief is true I say, God Bless these United States of America. If I am wrong I believe God help the United States of America may be more appropriate.
