Thank you to a Daniel Island fire fighter and his friend

I want to thank two awesome guys who came to my rescue today. As I was driving in the rain to pick up my children from school I got a flat tire. I was able to drive (very slowly) a few blocks further to the school and parked behind the cafeteria.  As I was getting out of my car to check on the tire, David Steed from the DI fire department walked up to me and asked if he could change it for me. He got the spare out of my trunk and he and his friend, Odell, changed it about as fast as I’ve ever seen anyone change a tire! They were getting soaked in the rain, but they did it just as cheerfully as if the sun were shining.  What could have been a real bummer of an afternoon turned out to be another reason to be thankful for such kind and helpful people as these great guys. Thank you gentlemen, for taking the time and effort to help someone you didn’t even know and for being so very, very thoughtful. I will pass the kindness along.

Sincerely,

Rochelle Chimento
