The DISA Boyz soccer team recently finished an exciting season, capturing the state title, and will be representing South Carolina in the National Youth Soccer Region Championship this summer.
Playing in the President's Medal Soccer League Classic I, the U-15 boys team is part of the Daniel Island Soccer Academy (DISA). They began the season with the Aiken Soccer Cup in August, advancing to the championship game but eventually suffering a loss in the finals. The team also participated in the Adidas Senior Cup College Showcase in Savannah, Georgia the week before Thanksgiving, competing against soccer teams from all across the country. The Boyz displayed tremendous effort while playing against the other teams and advanced to the finals, but ultimately gained their second loss of the  season.
After facing teams from the lower half of South Carolina throughout their regular season, however, the DISA Boyz finished with a record score of 16-0 and were ranked first in their division, which qualified them for the State Cup Championship games in the state's capital city of Columbia. The team worked hard through the playoffs unscathed and undefeated, advancing to the championship game which they won by a score of 3 to 1. With this win at the state championships, the DISA Boyz finished the season ranked at #144 in the nation for their age group and division, and will have the honor of representing Daniel Island and the state of South Carolina at the National Youth Soccer Region III Championship games, taking place in Decatur, Alabama this upcoming June.
The Boyz finished the 2012 season with an overall record of 22 -2, with their only losses having been in the Aiken and Adidas tournaments. They scored a total 93 goals all season, and gave up a mere 28 goals across all of their games.
