A spectacular 4th of July morning is planned for Daniel Island

Kick your 4th of July morning off with Pancakes in the Park from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Etiwan Park, the venue for the 4th of July pre-parade and parade activities. Members of Hello! Daniel Island, Vineyard Community Church and Daniel Island Village will prepare a wonderful breakfast featuring pancakes, fruit, muffins, croissants, juice, coffee and Mimosas. All proceeds will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Breakfast will include: 3 pancakes, fruit kabob, juice, water, coffee for a $5 donation. Or enjoy a continental breakfast of muffins, croissants, fruit kabobs, juice, water, coffee for a $3 donation. As a special treat, we will also be offering refreshing 4th of July Mimosas to kick the day’s festivities off for a $2 donation. Cash or checks only, no credit cards.

At 10 a.m., we will begin our pre-parade entertainment with the incredible headline talent of The Charleston Youth Company. They will be presenting a non-stop patriotic musical review show, appropriately entitled "All American." If you’ve never had the opportunity to see
these talented youth perform, you won’t want to miss this opportunity! Their production will include a four part performance, featuring an opening act of original music by Mark Brymer. Part 2, called Hometown USA, is a colorful look at the holiday that celebrates America’s birth. A musical tribute to a small town 4th of July celebration that includes nostalgic songs that we all love to hear. A Salute to the Military will be showcased in Part 3 as a reminder of the hard work of freedom and the lives that have been sacrificed for it. It features the song Over There by George M. Cohan, the only songwriter to have ever received the Congressional Medal of Honor for the writing of this song that became the "fight song" of WW I. This section also salutes the five major branches of the military as well as two more Cohan favorites-You’re A Grand Old Flag and I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy. Closing out their patriotic spectacular they will perform God Bless the U.S.A. with music and lyrics by Lee Greenwood. Daniel Island children will be selected to march with their ensemble in When the Saints Go Marching In, and the audience will be asked to join in the singing of My Country Tis of Thee.

Immediately following The Charleston Youth Company we will have another non-stop performance that will delight all ages, featuring Rick Hubbard, with a special patriotic version of his nationally recognized Kazoobie Kazoo Show. Rick’s show mixes music, comedy, and lots of fun audience interaction to get everyone involved, and it culminates in a grand finale marching kazoo band. Rick will provide 500 free red, white, and blue kazoos to give to audience members.

Rick has performed family entertainment shows since 1987, appearing nationwide in festivals, theaters, resorts, and community events. He has performed at the Seattle International Children’s Festival, Disney World, Busch Gardens, and The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. His shows are unique in the way they feature audience members of all ages on stage. Everyone receives a free kazoo, and Rick has organized kazoo bands as large as 30,000.

The Kazoobie Kazoo Show will energize the audience at Daniel Island and get everyone ready for the big parade that follows the show. Everyone in the audience will join the parade, marching and playing kazoos. Wear your red, white, and blue, and be ready to kazoo in the spectacular Daniel Island 4th of July Parade.
