A home on Cartright Street was burglarized on Thursday, January 31, according to a police report filed on the incident. Officers from Team 5 were dispatched to the property at about 8:30 pm after receiving a call from the home’s owner. The victim, who waited for police to arrive before entering the home,  stated that someone had forced open the side door to his garage and gained access to the house.  Police discovered several items in “disarray” inside, including bedside tables that were open with the contents spilled onto the floor. In addition, a rear porch screen was cut and the door was found to be unlocked. A large screen television set, amplifier, and other audio-visual devices were missing from the home. A neighbor reported seeing a dark colored pick-up truck in the driveway and two people “around the truck” at approximately 8 pm, but assumed they were visitors of the victim. Police have not indicated whether the sighting is related to the crime. Anyone with additional information that may help in the investigation is asked to contact police at 577-7434.
