The Charleston Police Department Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant last week at a residence in the Peninsula subdivision off Clements Ferry Road where a couple was arrested for growing marijuana.
The River Bay Lane couple was charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. They were being held in the Berkeley County Detention Center.
Police confiscated 118 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, 14.5 grams of marijuana, a shotgun, a rifle, $163, and materials and equipment used to grow marijuana.
The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation.
