Whether you are a "shucker" or a "shagger" you should make your way to Daniel Island’s Pierce Park Pavilion on Friday, April 11th for the last (and the best!) oyster roast of the season. Bring your shaggin’ shoes and dance the night away under the beautiful backdrop of the Wando River while listening to the music of the Palmetto Dance Band from 6-9 p.m. For our non-oyster eaters, there will be Frogmore stew and of course, plenty of cold beer, wine and soft drinks to wet your whistle after breaking it down on the dance floor. There will also be a silent auction and free shag lessons.
All proceeds benefit United Methodist Relief Center, a local non-profit organization committed to reducing poverty by repairing, rehabilitating and replacing substandard housing in the rural communities of Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester and Georgetown counties. Tickets can be purchased by calling UMRC at 843-884-4860. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door the evening of the event; prepurchase is recommended. Tickets are $20 per person or $35 per couple. Event details are listed below:
