Seacoast Church, with campuses in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina, was voted one of the Top 10 most influential churches in America early this summer.

The list, compiled by TheChurchReport.com, includes the 50 Most Influential Churches in America. The 2007 survey was emailed to leaders of more than 2,000 of the largest non-Catholic congregations in the nation in April-June. Participants were asked to recommend up to 10 churches they considered to be among the nation’s most influential. A total of 77 churches were recommended. A total of 53 percent of all church leader recommendations named the five churches. The top 10 churches received a total of 65 percent of all recommendations.

Pastors throughout the country provide their insight through surveys as to who is really influencing America’s churches. Other notable churches on the list are Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in Southern California and Willow Creek Community church in the Chicago area.

When asked about being included on this year’s list Greg Surratt, founding and senior pastor of Seacoast Church said, "We are honored to be a small part of what is happening in churches all over America. There are thousands of churches with volunteers and unbelievable servants all over the country making a difference in their communities everyday. We are pleased to represent them".

Founded in 1988 by Greg Surratt, Seacoast Church is a non-denominational Christian church with locations throughout South Carolina, including campuses in Mount Pleasant, West of the Ashley in Charleston, Summerville, Columbia, Irmo and Greenville; and campuses in Savannah, Ga., Asheville, N.C., and Greensboro, N.C. With a variety of church campuses and worship services, Seacoast ministers to over 8000 people each weekend and was recently named among the Most Innovative and fastest growing Churches in America by Outreach Magazine.
