Canning Workshop
Stephen P. Dowdney, author and canning expert will share his tips and techniques at a canning workshop on June 19 at 10 am at the Daniel Island Village Clubhouse, 455 Seven Farms Drive. $5 fee. Berkeley County Democratic Party
On June 22, 2013 the Berkeley Democratic Party will have their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Hear ye! Hear ye! Calling all 5K through rising 5th graders…..Seacoast Church is transforming into Kidscoast Kingdom during July 22-25th for 4 days of Vacation Bible School. Kids will assemble for jousting tournaments, feasting, storytelling and much, much more! Daniel Island Catholics
The Good Shepherd Club will have Mass on Sunday June 23rd at 9:30 am at Pierce Park Pavilion. Father Bob Higgins will celebrate the Mass, and island resident Ed Hunicutt will provide the music. All are invited.

Open Mic Night
An open mic coffeehouse at Black Tie Music Academy will be held on Friday, June 28 at 7 pm. Local talent shines onstage in a warm and receptive environment. Coffee and hot chocolate will be served. Admission is free. Everyone is invited to watch or perform.

The sky's the limit for this winning team! Pictured (L to R) are Lt. Michael Becker of SPAWAR, and Palmetto Scholars Academy students Griffin Enslinger and Alexander Puckhaber, of Daniel Island. The team's experiment on microgravity was one of 11 selected from 744 proposals submitted nationally for a chance to fly to an orbiting laboratory at the International Space Station.

Daniel Island/Cainhoy high school site in negotiations

This map shows the potential location for the new Daniel Island-Cainhoy area high school, scheduled to be completed by August 2017. The parcel of land under consideration is located about eight miles down Clements Ferry Road from Daniel Island and is just south of the Nelliefield Plantation subdivision. Acquisition of the site will be dependent on appraisals, contracts, and other negations prior to being approved.
