provided Debi Chard poses with Liz Steiner, Family Circle Tennis Center Membership Manager, surrounded by hundreds of toy donations in the lobby of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in West Ashley prior to appearing in an on-air guest segment.
The Family Circle Tennis Center hosted the first annual Adult Holiday Tennis Classic, presented by Allstate-Wally Burbage & Associates, from December 5 - 7 on Daniel Island. Over 160 players from the Charleston tri-county area participated in NTRP Singles, Doubles, and Mixed competition, with each receiving a Dunlop backpack as a player gift.

Competitors enjoyed four off-court social events throughout the weekend including dinner and a live band on Friday night with beverages provided by the Daniel Island Grille and Ben Arnold samplings, a Saturday morning continental breakfast, an afternoon cookout with food prepared by resident tennis pro Dewey Caulder, as well as a Sunday morning breakfast.

The event raised over $5,500 for the Boys & Girls Club through a silent auction, and made a charitable contribution to Debi’s Kids, including over 125 wrapped gifts donated by tournament participants and a $1,000 cash gift raised via tournament fees. Family Circle Tennis Center Membership Manager Liz Steiner appeared live from the West Ashley Wal-Mart on a Monday, December 15th, Ch. 5 News segment with Debi Chard of Debi’s Kids, where she presented the charity with a giant check commemorating the $1,000 cash contribution.
