SWEETGRASS PLASTIC SURGERY OPENS OPERATING ROOM ON DANIEL ISLAND

Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery has opened a new operating room in the practice’s Daniel Island office, located at 900 Island Park Drive. This is the practice’s second operating room (OR), with the original OR located at the Summerville office. Sweetgrass is also set to open a new state-of-the-art surgery center in West Ashley later this year.

“We were maxed out and operating five days a week at our Summerville operating room,” said Dr. Dennis Schimpf, a Daniel Island resident, award-winning surgeon and owner of Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery. “It was clear we needed to add a second operating room to meet the patient demand, and we chose to expand at our Daniel Island location to make it much more convenient for patients located East of the Cooper and in the surrounding areas.”

With a second operating room on Daniel Island, the practice’s leading surgeons, Dr. Dennis Schimpf, Dr. Craig Blum, and Dr. Clayton Crantford, will be able to complete 10 to 25 IV anesthesia surgeries per month as its utilization increases over time. This addition is one step closer to the practice’s goal to open a new state-of-the-art surgery center with multiple operating rooms as well as procedure rooms. This facility will be located in West Ashley and is set to be open before the end of 2019. Once complete, Sweetgrass will have operating rooms in Summerville, West Ashley and Daniel Island.

“At Sweetgrass we are proud to have patients with extreme satisfaction and incredible results post-surgery,” added Dr. Schimpf. “Our surgical team and entire staff are highly educated and tenured medical professionals. We utilize the most modern, cutting-edge treatments and precise surgical procedures that keep the length of surgery and down time to a minimum, continue to become less invasive for better healing, and help our patients reach their beauty goals.”

‘THE BAR METHOD CHARLESTON’ OPENS ON DANIEL ISLAND

The Bar Method Charleston - Daniel Island is now open at 211 River Landing Drive Suite D. The Bar Method uses precise isometric exercises to keep students working “in the muscle,” followed by active and passive stretching to lengthen and elongate the area just worked. The end result is a graceful, strong dancer-like body, including sculpted arms, flat abs, a lifted seat and elongated thighs, as well as improved posture and body alignment, according to a press release.

Owner Molly Dunn began her journey with The Bar Method as a client in Nashville in 2013. She quickly fell in love with the challenging classes, inspiring instructors, and how she felt stronger mentally and physically after every class. After SIX months in the studio, Dunn began the process of becoming a Bar Method instructor and taught in Nashville until July of 2018. During that time she completed a M. Ed. in Human Development Counseling at Vanderbilt University and worked as a school counselor in Nashville’s schools. Eventually her passion for the Bar Method won out and she looked into owning a studio. Dunn’s love of the Bar Method is matched by her love of the Lowcountry, so she brought the two together and opened a studio on Daniel Island last month.

“I am delighted to bring The Bar Method to the Daniel Island business and residential community,” said Dunn. “I have been blown away by the support I have received from my founding clients and various organizations on the island. Aside from an exceptional workout, I look forward to providing a place where the community can connect and small businesses can support each other through partnerships and events.”
