UBS to conduct food drive in June

Daniel Island-based UBS Financial Services, in conjunction with the Lowcountry Food Bank, will conduct a month-long food drive beginning June 1. Donated items can be dropped off at the UBS Center, located at 900 Island Park Drive. “For far too many students, the end of the school year marks the beginning of a hungry season,” noted Karl Riner, local branch manager for UBS. “In addition, hunger can be especially painful for aging Americans.” “We look forward to partnering with UBS, who has been very active nationally with member food banks of the Feeding America Program,” added Jessica Woolsey, Director of Fundraising and Corporate Engagement for the Lowcountry Food Bank. Non-perishable items may be dropped off at the Daniel Island UBS Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For further information please contact: Suzanna D’Armaral at UBS at 843-856-6629 or Jessica Woolsey with Lowcountry Food Bank at 843-747-8146 (ext. 162).

Blackbaud employees ‘make their mark’ on new world headquarters

The new world headquarters for Blackbaud, currently under construction on Island Park Drive in Daniel Island’s town center area, now reflects a personal touch created by those who will one day work there. Recently, all of the company’s Charleston employees took part in a significant milestone dubbed the “Topping Out” beam signing. This marks when the final piece of steel is laid in the new building and is commemorated by having the people who make the Blackbaud mission possible leave their signatures on a part of the beam. The 360,000 square foot campus has been designed to cultivate collaboration, promote disruptive innovation, and inspire employees to reach their full potential. Blackbaud’s fundamental belief that “the world will be a better place when good takes over” is integral to the company’s corporate culture. “Working at Blackbaud means working with people who share a passion for doing good,” stated a press release issued by the company. “We strive to create a high-energy and fun environment that challenges employees to be their best while embodying our values – We work as one. We bring heart. We invest (in) possibilities. We expect the best. We give back.”
