Painterly Home promotes local artistic home decor creations

Looking for a unique home gift for someone that loves art? Look no further than Painterly Home and their collection of one-of-a-kind pieces that integrate fine art images with luxurious fabrics to create distinctive designs.

Painterly Home founder Mollie Vardell blended her 27-year career as an interior designer with her 15 years as a fine artist to create items with a local vibe.

“Almost all of the inspiration for the products carried by Painterly Home come from this coastal paradise that we call home,” Vardell said. “Our products are colorful, tropical, sophisticated, and fun.”

Painterly Home, which started and operated on a small scale for three years, expanded and launched their e-commerce website last year – painterlyhome.com. “In the year since, both the business and the product line have grown considerably. In January of this year, we began selling a portion of our line on a wholesale basis to a dozen or so boutiques across the country,” Vardell said.

Vardell tries to keep it local. “The artists are local, and the products reflect our local beauty. We strive to make the best quality products for the most reasonable price we can offer. Our products are unique and are made one at a time right here in the Carolinas. The artwork on our fabrics is from local artists,” Vardell explained, adding,
“Clients like supporting both local and small businesses.”

Daniel Island resident Lynda Byrd always admired Vardell’s art style and when she got the chance purchased some original paintings. She was hooked immediately on the look and purchased a variety of pillows, kitchen items, and hostess gifts.

Byrd will definitely be buying more. “The artwork is original, the designs are beautiful, and quality is exceptional,” she said. “The care and quality of the items, the selection of prints that suits not just my taste but the feel of the Lowcountry as well, along with the fact that Mollie curates from local artists pleases my sense of buying local.
The customer service and turnaround time on these custom pieces is also an important factor. Mollie’s attention to detail and desire to please the customer makes the experience a happy one.”

Donna Nix discovered Painterly Home and Mollie Vardell at the Christmas Market on Daniel Island several years ago. “I was immediately impressed with the intricate details, brilliant colors and the excellent quality of everything.”

Nix says she has probably purchased almost every one of the small items available from Painterly Home for herself or as gifts.

Vardell’s work will be available for purchase at an art pop up event at Meyer Vogl Gallery on May 17, 5 to 8 p.m.
