When's it going to open?

New Starbucks, Central Island Square slated for early 2018 openings

The largest Starbucks in the state of South Carolina, which happens to be located on Daniel Island, is set to open to the general public on Saturday, Jan. 6 after facing minor delays.

According to Mike White, the building’s owner, this Starbucks is one-of-a-kind.

“This is a very unique store design, to our knowledge, not to be repeated and hasn’t been done before,” said White. “They will have nitro cold brew, which will be fantastic. They’re going to have a digital face-to-face experience. When you pull up, they’ll see your face and you’ll see theirs.”

Prior to opening on Jan. 6, the store will be holding an opening for friends and family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 5, added White. Once opened, the location will have a quick and easy drive-through to make the morning commute as stress free as possible, he said.

“The shop is easily accessible on your morning commute,” stated White. “It’s directly on and off 526. They’re going to have a speedy drive-through, so they’ll get you where you need to go quickly.”

CENTRAL ISLAND SQUARE

Located across the street on Island Park Drive, Central Island Square, the mixed-use development that is currently under construction, has plans to be completed by early March 2018, explained Pete Harper of Lee & Associates.

Currently, only two of the eight retail spaces have been leased, as was previously reported in The Daniel Island News in August and September of last year. The Butcher Shoppe International LLC was the first to commit to retail space in August, signing a lease to occupy Suite 104. And in September, Pleasant Life Chiropractic LLC signed a lease to occupy Suite 102-B.

“We have two units leased, three leases out for execution and three remaining spaces to lease,” said Harper. “[Central Island Square] will be completed by early March 2018.”

The residential portion of Central Island Square, which originally broke ground in February 2016, is set to start moving in tenants this month, according to their Facebook page.

The upscale complex features 317 luxury apartment units, an 8,300 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center, and a resort-style saline swimming pool with in-water tanning ledges and an oversized pool deck with a grilling pavilion and exterior televisions. Other amenities include a large dog park with a pet spa station, a tranquil hammock garden and a clubhouse and leasing center that will feature a demonstration kitchen, a media and game room, a business center that will include individual conference rooms, a gourmet coffee bar and a full guest suite that can be reserved by the tenants for their out-of-town visitors.
