Headlining the Daniel Island Speaker Series on Sept. 11 will be USN Captain Kevin Byrne, Deputy Commanding Officer of Joint Base Charleston. Captain Byrne will provide insights into the sweeping changes that have taken place in the U.S. Armed Forces since Sept. 11, 2001. He is a two-time recipient of the Navy’s Legion of Merit, which is given for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.
