DIHS TO PRESENT ‘A REFUGEE CRISIS IN COLONIAL CAROLINA’

Date:
Tuesday, October 15, 2019 - 7:00pm

The Daniel Island Historical Society will welcome Citadel history professor Victoria Musheff as guest speaker at its Tues., Oct. 15 meeting, which will take place from 7 to 8 pm at Church of the Holy Cross on Daniel Island. Controversy over political refugees is nothing new in history…particularly in the history of South Carolina. One of the lesser known controversies will be the subject of this special program. Ms. Musheff will speak about Colonial Carolina in the midst of a humanitarian crisis between 1755-65, which was complicated by tensions around the French and Indian War. All are welcome.
