Duck Race beats the rain, raises more than $150,000 for local charities
After a day of storms, the rain cleared minutes before the start of the Rotary Duck Race at Smythe Park on June 8. The rain held off for the remainder of the evening as guests enjoyed the race as well as family activities, food, and music by Plane Jane.

Over 12 years, the event has raised $1.5 million.
Those who adopted the winning ducks are: First Place: $10,000 - Mary Pytelewski; Second Place $5,000 - Robbie Ellison; Third Place $1,000 - Stewart Foundation-ALS Research; Fourth Place $1,000 - Malcolm Smith; Fifth Place $1,000 - Sandra Rabon; Sixth Place $1,000 - Matt Adams; Seventh Place $1,000 - Tom Downing.
