NEDA Walk raises needed funds and awareness
Rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of those taking part in the NEDA Walk on Daniel Island on Sept. 29. Despite sporadic downpours, the event raised just shy of $6,000, according to event coordinator Marie Delcioppo, a Daniel Island resident. Donations are still being accepted through October 29 at https://nedawalk.org/charleston2018.
The National Eating Disorders Association conducts walks in more than 90 cities nationwide each year. The gatherings are “inspirational, community-building events where passionate walkers raise money to fund eating disorders education, prevention and support, as well as advocacy and research initiatives,” states the NEDA website.
