On the new City of Charleston indoor recreation center planned for Daniel Island:

“What we ended up getting is frankly one of the best new community centers that any portion of the City of Charleston has ever seen,” said Jane Baker, vice president of community services for the Daniel Island Property Owners Association. “The largest financial commitment to any community center the city has ever built and we’ll have it right here at Governors Park…This is going to be a fabulous new facility for the island, approximately 25,000 square feet, meeting rooms, gym space, space for a basketball court, volleyball courts. I really think it’s going to be a wonderful, wonderful asset for all of our residents to enjoy, senior programming, card games, whatever.”
