Body found identified

The body of a man discovered in the Wando River near Daniel Island on Sunday, Sept. 2 has been identified as a 40 year old Moncks Corner resident. The individual was the victim of an apparent suicide. According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD), the investigating agency, witnesses observed the man jump off the Wando River bridge on Thursday, Aug. 30.
A full emergency response followed by a number of local agencies, including MPPD, the Charleston Police Department, Charleston County, the Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
