'Jingle Paws' to offer pet portraits with a purpose!
O come all ye pet lovers! Lucia’s Premium Pet on Daniel Island and Lynn Cobb Photography have teamed up to offer a special “Jingle Paws” photo session for your furry friends this holiday season. The canine candids will be taken at Lucia’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. Portraits will feature a neutral background so they can be used all year long, but holiday props can be added if desired.
For Lynn, a Daniel Island resident who owns three dogs, the experience offers a wonderful opportunity to capture pets’ personalities.
“I think one of my favorite types of photos are close up photos of dogs, where you can really see the expression in their whole face,” she said. “Some dogs are super funny!”
But these simple snapshots are destined to bring a little extra joy to the world this year, as all proceeds from the event will benefit America’s Vet Dogs (AVD). According to the organization’s website, the service dog programs of AVD “were created to provide enhanced mobility and renewed independence to veterans, active duty service members, and first responders with disabilities, allowing them to live with pride and self-reliance.” It is a cause near and dear to Lynn’s heart, as she is working on a compilation of photos featuring AVD guide dogs and their recipients.
“We selected America’s Vet Dogs because they are an outstanding organization that trains their dogs to the highest standard with love, compassion and discipline,” said Lynn. “These dogs go through a year-long training process and can aid our honorable veterans and first responders in so many tasks, such as walking and stabilization, retrieving items that are difficult to pick up, and PTSD symptoms, such as physical, emotional and anxiety support.”
“Lucia’s is so happy to be able to partner with Lynn again this year to give back during our favorite time of year,” added Katharine Moffat of Lucia’s. “Professional pet portraits last a lifetime and we are fortunate to be able to offer this event to our amazing customers and their furry family members.”
Appointments for the pet photo sessions are required as slots are limited. Please call Lucia’s at (843) 377-8740 or stop in to reserve your spot. The cost for the session is $25, which includes a 5x7 photo and access to a digital file.
“It’s always a fun day!” added Lynn. “And when you can give back to a foundation like America’s Vet Dogs, it’s extra special.”
