Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. All meetings are open for public comment except the TRC meetings. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the most recent meeting on April 11, the construction plans for a pavilion at Captain’s Island (Daniel Island Park) were given minor comment, and after revisions are approved in-house, they will be sent to Zoning for stamping. The next meeting will be held on April 18 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — At the next meeting on May 1, the request for a variance to allow the removal of one grand tree at 145 Captain’s Island Drive will be discussed.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The most recent meeting was held on April 16 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island discussed.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The most recent meeting was held on April 15, with no issues of impact to Daniel Island discussed.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The most recent meeting was held on April 17, with no issues of impact to Daniel Island discussed.
