Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees in the coming weeks that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the last meeting on Oct. 12, committee members discussed the site plan for two commercial buildings at Daniel Island Town Center on Daniel Island Drive. It was requested that the plan be revised and resubmitted to the TRC. The Construction Activity Application, CSWPPP, and a storm water technical report and traffic impact study are required. The next meeting will take place on Oct. 19. No issues of impact to Daniel Island are on the agenda.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will take place on Nov. 1 (agenda not yet published).

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will take place on Oct. 17. No issues of impact to Daniel Island are on the agenda.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The most recent meeting was held on Oct. 16. Requests for final approval for the design of two covered parking spaces at 145 River Landing Drive and for conceptual approval for an addition and renovation of the Daniel Island Publix were on the agenda (see page 19 for additional information). Next meeting will take place Nov. 6 (agenda not yet published).

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will take place on Oct. 18. On the agenda is a request for subdivision concept plan approval for Fairbanks Drive.
