Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island
These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the Feb. 22 meeting, the committee made minor comments regarding Daniel Island Self Storage and asked them to resubmit to TRC as needed. Once final approval is obtained, the plan will go to Zoning for stamping. Regarding Guggenheim Park, the committee asked for plans to be revised and resubmitted. The next meeting will be held on March 1 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — At the next meeting on March 7, the Daniel Island Company is expected to request a variance to allow for the removal of four grand trees at Pier View Street and River Landing Drive.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will be held on March 6. The agenda is not yet published.
City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The next meeting will be held on March 5 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island to be discussed.
City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — At the most recent meeting on Feb. 21 the commission approved with conditions the concept plan for River Landing Village.
