Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the most recent meeting on October 25, it was determined that the construction plans for an open space pavilion at Captain’s Island Drive and the construction plans for a 264-unit apartment development on Robert Daniel Drive need to be revised and resubmitted. The construction stormwater pollution prevention plan, statistical downscaling model, SCDHEC notice of intent, and stormwater technical reports are also required. At the next meeting on November 1, the construction plans for a 30,000 square foot office building on Parkline Avenue (near the Talison Row apartment community) will be discussed.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will be held on November 7 with no issues on impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will be held on November 6 with no issues on impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — At the next meeting on November 5, the conceptual approval for the construction of a new indoor tennis court at the Daniel Island Club will be discussed.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will be held on November 21. The agenda is not yet published.
