Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. All meetings are open for public comment except the TRC meetings. For more information on any of these proposed actions, including location and time of meetings, please email president@dineighborhoodassociation.org.

City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the most recent meeting on October 17, the site plan for two commercial buildings “Daniel Island Town Center” on Island Park Drive was asked to be revised and return to TRC; and the site plan for a new two-story commercial building at 890 Island Park Drive was asked to be revised and return to TRC. At the next meeting on October 24, the road construction plans for the Daniel Island Parcel X1 on Pierce Street will be discussed.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will be held on November 6; the agenda is not yet published.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will be held on November 5; the agenda is not yet published.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — At the most recent meeting on October 21, the request for preliminary approval for the construction of a two-story commercial building at 873-877 Island Park Drive was discussed.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will be held on November 20; the agenda is not yet published.
