Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. All meetings are open for public comment except the TRC meetings. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — At the most recent meeting on October 24, the road construction plans for the Daniel Island Parcel X1 on Pierce Street was discussed and the developer was directed to “Revise and return to TRC; 3 half size sets & 1 CD.” The next meeting will be held on October 31 with no issues impacting Daniel Island or Cainhoy listed.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will be held on November 6 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island or Cainhoy to be discussed.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will be held on November 5 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island or Cainhoy to be discussed.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — At the most recent meeting on October 21, the request for preliminary approval for the construction of a two-story commercial building at 873-877 Island Park Drive was granted with various staff and board comments. The next meeting will be held on November 4 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island or Cainhoy to be discussed.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will be held on November 20; the agenda is not yet published.
