Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island
These are the issues being brought before the various city of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island and the Cainhoy peninsula. All meetings are open for public comment except the TRC meetings. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC): The next meeting will be held on March 5 with one issue of impact to Daniel Island or Cainhoy to be discussed. The committee will review construction plans for a new hotel and proposed right-of-way adjustment for the 113-room Daniel Island Courtyard Marriott at 56 Fairchild Street.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD): The last meeting was held on March 4 with no items affecting Daniel Island or Cainhoy.
City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z): The last meeting was held on March 3 with no issues of impact affecting Daniel Island or Cainhoy. The next meeting will be held March 17.
City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB): The next meeting will be held Monday, March 16. An agenda has not been published. At the March 2 meeting, the DRB heard a request for approval for a completed mock-up panel for a new recreational facility at 165 Fairbanks Drive on Daniel Island.
City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC): The next meeting will be held March 18. An agenda has not yet been published.
