Wando bridge lane closures set for this weekend

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is continuing rehabilitation of the I-526 Wando River Bridge with lane closures set for this weekend.

The left lane of I-526 west bound will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 until 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10. The right lane will remain open at all times. Exit 24 will remain accessible. No east bound lanes will be affected. Signage and Highway Patrol will be directing motorists and controlling traffic.

This work was previously scheduled for last weekend but was postponed due to weather.

Teaming Up to Fight Food Insecurity with Fitness

Synchronicity, a Mount Pleasant well-being center specializing in connecting busy people with wellness experiences, has partnered with MUSC Health to raise money for the Lowcountry Food Bank by hosting a one-of-a-kind workout event at Volvo Car Stadium on Daniel Island on Saturday, Feb. 15, 9-11 a.m. For $25 anyone can take part in a unique workout at the stadium that will include bodyweight exercises, a half mile run or walk, and climbing stadium stairs! All fitness levels are welcome, and teams are encouraged. All money raised will go directly to Lowcountry Food Bank. Each ticket purchased supports 150 meals.
