Police Blotter - December 20, 2018
The following information was taken from Charleston Police Department Team 5 reports filed between December 2, 2018 and December 10, 2018.
DRUG/ NARCOTICS VIOLATIONS
On the evening of Dec. 2, officers were dispatched to a business on Charleston Regional Parkway off Clements Ferry Road, after being alerted to unknown parties tampering with the company’s property. Upon arrival, they approached three individuals in a car, one of whom was seen on security footage tampering with property. Officers inspected the car and discovered marijuana and a handgun.
In a separate case, an officer received a call about a possible intoxicated driver on Clements Ferry Road, near Point Hope Parkway, on Dec. 6. The offender was found passed out in a heavily damaged vehicle. A white powder residue was seen in plain view in the car. The suspect failed a field a sobriety test and was placed in the back of a police vehicle. After searching his car, the officer found a small bag of what was later identified as crack cocaine.
On Dec. 7, in the late morning, Special Investigations officers responded to a drug-related case in Governors Park and assisted with an ongoing FBI investigation. Items seized included drug and narcotics equipment, 29 grams of amphetamines/ methamphetamines, and 6. 7 grams of heroin.
CRIMINAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE- AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
An officer responded to a call about an assault in a Daniel Island neighborhood on Dec. 10 in the early morning hours. The complainant told CPD that his boyfriend, the offender, asked him where he was a few nights prior to the incident. An argument ensued and the complainant told the offender to leave the apartment. The complainant bent down to put food in his dog’s dish when the offender stabbed him the back of the neck with a pair of scissors. The offender reportedly fled the scene, stealing his boyfriend’s truck.
