Police conduct investigation of death on Daniel Island
Police activity at 130 River Landing on Sunday afternoon is related to a death at the address.
Detectives are conducting an investigation at River Landing Drive after a man was found dead in his mother’s apartment after he attacked her and his brother with a knife.
Police responded about 3:48 p.m. Sunday afternoon to a domestic violence call at 130 River Landing Drive.
Officers arrived on scene and learned that a man had attacked his mother and his brother with a knife and barricaded himself inside of his mother’s apartment.
Officers entered the apartment and found the man dead in a bedroom. In a press release, City of Charleston police noted, “This is not a homicide. The coroner will determine the cause of death.”
The man’s mother and brother were treated at East Cooper Medical Center for their injuries and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
