Police Standoff ends peacefully

According to City of Charleston Police Spokesperson Charles Francis, police, hostage negotiation and mobile crisis team members were mobilized last Friday in the 1200 block of Blue Sky Lane in Beresford Creek Landing off Clements Ferry Road in response to a man who had barricaded himself inside a residence. He was alone and later peacefully surrendered to police.
Residents in the neighborhood had posted on Facebook about seeing law enforcement officers in what appears to be “SWAT” gear with weapons. Blue Sky Lane had been closed to traffic. And, at least one school bus with children from Daniel Island School bound for the community was kept at the school Friday afternoon and parents were instructed to pick up their children there.
