Providence Baptist Church rises against hunger!

About 30 to 40 volunteers of all ages gathered at Providence Baptist Church on Daniel Island on June 15 to “Rise Against Hunger.” The dedicated team of helpers packed some 10,000 meals that will ultimately be distributed to those in need around the world.

The church, which raised $4000 to pay for the food and shipping costs prior to the event, has been participating in the annual mission project for several years.

“We come to this event every year to show our kids that there are many people in the world who aren’t as fortunate as they are,” said one volunteer. “It makes them feel good to be able to help others.”
