Ribbon-cutting held for Charleston Cremation Center

About 30 people, including several local government officials, attended a ribbon-cutting on October 28 for the new Charleston Cremation Center and Funeral home, located off Clements Ferry Road. The facility is managed and owned by Marcus A. Yocum. Berkeley County Supervisor Bill Peagler gave opening remarks at the event, stating that the company is just “another example that Berkeley County is open for business and means business.” He added that Yocum did an “incredible job building a state-of-the-art complex” and that he is thankful for the investment Yocum has made in the county and for the five new jobs it will create. Yocum called the gathering a “pretty proud day,” particularly given the “sweat equity” that has been poured into the company. Also on hand for the ribbon-cutting were Charleston County Councilman Herb Sass and Mount Pleasant Town Councilman Gary Santos. The address for the facility is 2054 Wambaw Creek Road.
