Sundown on the Wando, Daniel Island’s Free Riverfront Music Concert, returns Friday, April 22

The kickoff concert of Daniel Island’s Annual riverfront concert series “Sundown on the Wando” is this Friday, April 22, 6 - 9 p.m. at Children’s Park. The opening band is Charleston based, The Blue Dogs! Come out to Children’s Park, on the banks of the Wando River at the end of River Landing Drive to mix and mingle with friends and neighbors while catching the breezes off the river and enjoying great music.
The Blue Dogs are well known in Charleston as well as nationally and internationally. Each year they perform at clubs, festivals, colleges, corporate events, private parties, and fundraisers---primarily from New York to Florida but expanding wherever they are called. They continue to maintain a significant fan base, with all 9 recordings available through iTunes and other digital portals and their CD’s, DVD’s and other merchandise offered exclusively at their website, www.bluedogs.com. And so the Charleston SC-based Blue Dogs quietly move into their 28th year as a band (est. 1987) playing and singing Americana/country-rock music. The band has performed on the same stage with such well-known and diverse artists as Willie Nelson, Widespread Panic, Bruce Hornsby, and Hootie and the Blowfish and more.
Admission is Free! Open to the general public. Inflatables for the kids. Pack a picnic or purchase from Cast Iron food truck. Pets must be leashed and under owner control. There is no rain date for this event.
Alcohol will not be sold, personal coolers are allowed.
