Arrington receives endorsements

Republican U.S. House candidate Katie Arrington, who is running for Rep. Mark Sanford’s seat, has received an endorsement from the National Right to Life Committee (NRTLC), the nation’s oldest and largest pro-life organization. According to a press release issued by Arrington’s campaign, the NRTLC endorsement highlighted the candidate’s work in the state legislature to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act – a bill prohibiting abortion at 20 weeks. Additionally, the committee cited Arrington’s “opposition to using taxpayer dollars for abortion.”

Arrington also received endorsements last week by several regional law enforcement leaders, including Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis and Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon.

“As a mother and grandmother, Katie Arrington will always work to keep our families and neighborhoods safe,” stated Sheriff Lewis in a press release. “I proudly stand with her now and look forward to working with her in the future to make that happen.”
