ECCO Director Jack Little to step down

After successfully leading East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) for the last 11 years, Executive Director Jack Little has announced he will be stepping down.

Little joined the organization, which has a satellite location in Huger on the Cainhoy Peninsula, in 2005 after previously working for the Charleston and Chattahoochee Baptist Associations. Under his leadership, ECCO has increased its annual income from $300,000 to more than $1 million through the development of strategic donor relationships. Little organized a successful capital campaign providing funding for continued building support, building expansion, and the creation of a disaster relief fund. He was also instrumental in creating and implementing programs to focus on addressing the root cause of poverty in the Lowcountry.

Although Little said he would be leaving his post effective immediately, he also promised to continue to serve to ensure a smooth transition.

“At this stage of my life,” added Little, “I would like to explore and engage in new opportunities and see if there are other avenues for me to continue to give back to my community.”

President of ECCO’s Board of Directors, Giff Daughtridge, said “We would like to thank Jack for his tremendous service over the last 11 years. He has built ECCO into a thriving organization and has made a tremendous impact on our community. ECCO is deeply indebted to Jack for his charismatic leadership and tireless efforts in advancing the overall mission of our organization. While he will be deeply missed, we know that we will continue to build upon the solid foundation that he has created.”

Daughtridge added that the search for a new executive director is already underway.
