Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — The next meeting will be held on May 10 and will discuss the preliminary subdivision plats and road construction plans for phase 3 of Captain’s Island (formerly known as Rhoden Island), which connects to Daniel Island via a bridge over Ralston Creek.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will be held on June 6. The agenda is not yet published.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting will be held on May 15 with no issues of impact to Daniel Island on the agenda.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The most recent meeting was held on May 7. On the agenda for discussion was the preliminary approval for the construction of a new commercial building at 873-877 Island Park Drive.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will be held on May 16. The agenda is not yet published.
