Land use and zoning activities on Daniel Island

These are the issues being brought before the various City of Charleston boards and committees that are specific to land use and zoning on Daniel Island. City of Charleston Technical Review Committee (TRC) — The most recent meeting was to take place on Jan. 4, but was cancelled due to the weather. On that agenda to be discussed were the plans for preliminary plats and road construction for four lots on Pierce Street and the River Landing Village subdivision concept plan. TRC will hold their next meeting on Jan. 11. The agenda has not yet been published.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Site Design (BZA-SD) — The next meeting will take place on Feb. 7. The agenda has not yet been published.

City of Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals – Zoning (BZA-Z) — The next meeting is planned for Jan. 16. The agenda has not yet been published.

City of Charleston Design Review Board (DRB) — The most recent meeting took place on Jan. 2. Preliminary approval for the construction of a new commercial office and retail building at 297 Seven Farms Drive was discussed. The motion for approval was deferred with several recommendations by staff and board members, including raising the window storefront, providing detail on a utility screen wall, restudying the building’s northwest corner, and providing more continuity in elevations.

City of Charleston Planning Commission (PC) — The next meeting will be Jan. 17. The agenda is not yet published.
