The Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club would like to thank all at the kids and families participating in the 7th Annual Daniel Island KIDS Fishing Tournament held June 17 at the Smythe Park Lake. In addition we especially appreciate all the donations that our sponsors made which help to make our KIDS Fishing Tournament such a success.
Records were set this year for number of participants with 86 kids and their families, totaling at over 300 attendees in total. The tournament also had 29 sponsors this year which is the most ever. In addition, we were able to make a donation to the SCDNR of Berkeley County in the amount of $2,500. All of the success this year has only motivated our Club to look for ways to improve upon our KIDS Fishing Tournament next year and make it an even better experience for the kids and their families. We are already planning for next year, with the tournament once again scheduled the Saturday before Father’s Day, June 16, 2018. Please mark your calendars now.
It was rewarding to see the photos published by The Daniel Island News in the June 22-28 edition showing the excitement exhibited by all participants, both young and old. We hope to see even greater participation next year at this wonderful family event. The DIIFC looks forward to the continued support of the Daniel Island Community and our sponsors in making the KIDS outing the special event that it has become.
