Ten and Five Years Ago

In the June 1, 2006 edition of the paper our top news story was that the Daniel Island Company planned to submit a plan for a waterfront marina on the property south of the sales center within 90 days. We reported, “While creating its plan for the shoreline, the company received input from two of the best waterfront designers in the country, [Sloan] said. The proposed plan, which has been drawn up by a top-flight architect, is packaged as a little marina village with an ambience reminiscent of the Beaufort, S.C. waterfront. Sloan said the proposal would be submitted to public agencies within 90 days.”
In other news nurse Peggy Lincoln retired after 25 years at Cainhoy Elementary-Middle School.
