April 2017 Real Estate Report

There were 27 homes that sold in April this year. That is slightly higher than the number sold last April but not as high as last month. As of May 10, there were 236 homes for sale. Of those, 163 were active and 73 were under contract. Sales in April totaled $15,276,694.

The most expensive property sold during April was a 3,500 square foot home located on Brailsford Street in Daniel Island Park. It sold for $1,717,760. The least expensive home purchased was a one bedroom/one bath condo at 100 Bucksley Lane. It sold for $147,000.

According to Renee Reinert Pote, owner of Iron Gate Realty, a trend she is seeing for the first quarter this year (January-March) is that sales are definitely starting to improve after a slower first quarter last year. In 2015, during the months of January through March, the total number of homes sold was 107, while in 2016, during the same time frame, only 78 sold. Now in 2017, 86 homes sold during the first quarter.

“I found the trend in total sales for the first quarter in 2016 took a dip and now begins to climb in 2017,” says Renee.
